The Role of a Recruiter

A recruiter works closely with an account manager to fulfill open positions for our customers. The recruiter is responsible for the identification, placement and performance of the contract employees they provide to our customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop recruiting strategies to identify qualified candidates.
  • Determine and understand customers’ staffing requirements.
  • Evaluate candidates’ strengths compared with customers’ requirements.
  • Identify, select and recommend the best candidate for the client requirement
  • Negotiate wage rates and other terms of employment with candidates.
  • Maintain industry contacts to gain knowledge and obtain sales leads.
  • Manage and supervise current contract, contract-to-hire and direct placement employees.

Career Path for Aerotek Recruiting and Sales Jobs

Recruiter A Recruiter is responsible for fulfilling open positions as requested by Aerotek’s clients. This includes all steps associated with sourcing, recruiting and monitoring the performance of the candidates that we provide.

Professional Recruiter A Professional Recruiter performs the same core duties as a recruiter, while drawing upon his or her experience to mentor and develop other recruiters. This includes the ability to be a leader in the office and develop process improvement programs around recruiting.

Account Manager An Account Manager is responsible for building relationships with clients and business partners in the assigned territory and managing the recruiters on his or her team. An Account Manager will learn invaluable leadership skills while continuing to solidify his or her outside sales experience.

Director of Business Operations A Director of Business Operations is the highest level of leadership in the local office and is responsible for leading and managing one or multiple sales offices. A Director of Business Operations will continually develop his or her team of internal employees while ensuring the acquisition, growth and retention of local clients.

Advanced Sales Opportunities As you progress into advanced sales, opportunities for regional and national sales roles exist for business development managers, account executives, directors and vice presidents. Responsibilities include developing key account strategies and driving strategic growth for a targeted client base.

Solidify your skills in Account Management or Become a Professional Recruiter

With a position in Account Management you will be responsible for building relationships with clients in your territory and managing the recruiters on your team. Or transition into a Professional Recruiter role and help mentor and develop our recruiters.

Transition into a Director of Business Operations or an Advanced Sales Role

As a Director of Business Operations, you will be responsible for leading and managing field offices for Aerotek. In this role you oversee talent management, performance monitoring and measurable progress toward Aerotek’s goals for continuous improvement and teamwork. Or progress into an advanced sales role as a Business Development Manager or become part of Aerotek’s National Sales team.
